The Problem

Traditional fundraising is dead.
Basketball can do better.

😴

Galas are boring

Donors sit through a 3-hour dinner. Engagement is low. Your athletes are invisible.

🎟️

Golf outings are exclusive

High buy-in, low turnout. Half your community can't participate.

πŸ“‹

Bake sales don't scale

Hours of planning. Minimal return. Zero connection to your program's identity.

How It Works

One possession. That's it.

Before each match, a coin flip decides who chooses their role β€” offense or defense. Make the shot, you advance. Get the stop as the defender β€” a miss, steal, or block β€” you advance. One possession decides it all.

1

Players pay a small entry fee

Set your entry at $20–$50. Across 64 players that's $1,280–$3,200 raised before a single possession is played.

2

Draw the bracket

Our platform seeds players and generates the single-elimination bracket automatically. Donors, families, and fans can watch it update live.

3

Coin flip, then one shot

A coin flip decides who chooses offense or defense β€” the other player gets the remaining role. One shot decides it: make it and the offensive player advances, miss it β€” or get stripped or blocked β€” and the defender advances. The referee records it instantly and the bracket updates in real time.

4

Crown the champion

The whole bracket resolves in under 2 hours for 64 players. Presentation, photos, and NIL activation all happen same day.

The Format Explained

Why one possession?

The One Point Bowl format for basketballdistills competition to its most dramatic single moment: a defended possession. Before the match, a coin flip decides who chooses their role β€” offense or defense β€” and the other player is automatically assigned the one that's left. Then it's one shot, under pressure, in front of a crowd.

Each match takes 90 seconds. Make the shot and the offensive player advances. Miss it, get stripped, or get blocked and the defensive player advances instead β€” the outcome is always decisive, so there's never a tiebreaker to run. A 64-player bracket resolves in under 2 hours on a single court β€” or faster across multiple courts simultaneously.

Single elimination means every possession matters. There are no second chances. This creates genuine drama even among recreational players, and gives elite players a chance to demonstrate composure on both ends of the floor.

For fundraising:a $25 entry fee across 64 participants is $1,600 raised in under 2 hours. Add a $5 donation from spectators per match watched, and you're well above that. The format is lean, fast, and memorable.

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: since either player can win the coin flip and choose to play defense, encourage your lockdown defenders to lean into the stop. Donors love watching a real contest, not just an uncontested shot.
